Common Questions

Individual therapy appointments are $260 for 50 minutes.

After-hours appointments (after 4.30 pm) are also offered at $30 surcharge.

This is billed at the time of the session.

I work with clients with a Mental Health Treatment Plan, private health insurance or those who are paying privately.

I will try my best to keep fees up-to-date on this website. Current fees will be confirmed prior to booking.

You do not need a referral to see a psychologist. However, for those that are eligible, the following rebates may be available:

Medicare: Eligible clients may receive a Medicare rebate for up to 10 psychology sessions per calendar year with a valid referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP. These MHTP Medicare rebates are typically $149.05 (out of pocket cost is $110.95)

Private health: Private Health Insurance rebates may be available for individual therapy depending on your level of cover. Please check with your insurer regarding eligibility prior to commencing services. You cannot claim for both Medicare and Private Health for the same service.

HAY Clinical Psychology does not bulk-bill (i.e., the full consultation fee applies , with any applicable Medicare rebate returned to you separately).

HAY Clinical Psychology also does not currently accept third-party funding including NDIS, TAC, WorkCover, DVA, EAP, VOCAT (Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal), or court-ordered referrals.

HAY Clinical Psychology has a cancellation policy:

More than 48 hours notice — no fee charged

25–48 hours notice — 50% of the session fee charged

0–24 hours notice — full session fee charged

After-hours appointments are offered for 4.30 pm onwards. Please note, these times will incur an additional $30 (after-hours fee).
